Mustard over here, please!!
I love mustard in many ways, is one of my favorite ingredients for marinades and dressings. I make my own vinaigrette using fresh ingredients that will improve the taste of any salad or any vegetables like steamed potatoes and it’s very easy to make.
You can find a great varieties of mustards in the market but Dijon mustard is my favorite and has to be made in the Dijon region of France, other wise could be called “Dijon style mustard” or you can find it like “dijon mustard” with a lowercase “D” and the flavor isn’t the same. I prefer the real Dijon mustard to make this home made deli vinaigrette for my salads.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ teaspoon fresh thyme very fine chopped
- 1 tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 glass with lid
Instructions
Combine all the ingredients in a glass and close lid and shake for 1 minute vigorously until smooth and thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning.
I recommend to use fresh thyme is much better than dry. You can keep it in the fridge for 8 days perfectly. Oh yeah… Now enjoy so much on your favorite salad.
If you don’t like thyme at all, you can replace it by basil or your favorite herb, but if you haven’t tried before the aromatic thyme herb please taste it, is just amazing.
